Employee Spotlight – Liz Heavisides

First up we have Liz Heavisides, New Business Development Officer:

1. Describe yourself in 3 words …

Driven, thoughtful and clumsy!

2. How long have you been working at Oadby Plastics and on the Prep-Pro brand?

I started working for Oadby in May 2008, so 14 years!  With regards to Prep-Pro, since the original brand range (rebranded to Prep-Pro) came over to Oadby from our sister company ABG in Jan 2020.

3. What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

Being completely honest, my parents wouldn’t allow me to go to University after my A-levels as I had no idea what career direction I was heading in. I started working as an office junior and quickly became interested in sales, the rest is history! Love nothing more than interacting with customers and colleagues and there is nothing better than the buzz of a busy sales office.

4. What does your job entail?

Responsible for the successful development and nurturing of new business accounts here at Leicester HO. 

5. What’s been your proudest accomplishment since working at Oadby Plastics⁄Prep-Pro?

Change of career direction after returning from maternity leave.  My role changed from Sales Office Team Leader to New Business Development Officer, which I thoroughly enjoy. Two very different roles but equally challenging!

6. What’s the most exciting thing you are working on right now?

A project producing something very unique and unusual for a well known pop star tour!

7. What was your first job?

Washing dishes at our local pub whilst my Dad propped up the bar!

8. What one skill do you think everyone should learn (could be anything – from work related to how to peel an orange)?

Life Skill - How to always be kind

9. Recommend a TV show and⁄or book you have recently watched⁄read?

MAID

10. What do you do for fun outside of work?

Every day is a fun day with a lively 3 year old!

11. Tell us one interesting thing about yourself that people maybe unaware of?

I’ve ran the London Marathon
